Fort Donelson Relics Featured on Tennessee Crossroads

Me doing an interview with the host of the show in the shop. Nikki and I in front of Maney's Battery. This uniform, mostly civilian attire, is what many Confederates would have worn at Fort Donelson.
Here we discussed Morrison's Attack on the 13th of February, 1862. We filmed several "off the beaten path" locations. We took the crew to where Col. Nathan Bedford Forrest took his command and others out of the Fort across Lick Creek.

Display at Stewart County Library

We did a display for the Stewart County Library in Feb during the anniversary of the battle. Incidentally it sleeted and snowed that weekend just as it did a 144 years earlier. Yankee infantrymen's display. Unfortunately the cloth in all the pics are reproductions, however all the artifacts are original.
Western Theatre early war Confederate Cavalry display. Early War Western Theatre Confederate Infantry Display.

Nikki and I put together a display for the whole month of February to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Fort Donelson, Feb 12-16th 1862. Many of the artifacts we displayed  were recovered in Dover, and it was only fitting we made them available for viewing for the people who had given us permission to recover them.

Confederate Memorial Service at Fort Donelson NBP near the  Confederate Monument

(Top Left) Members of the SCV & UDC deliver messages at the Memorial Service which is held every year. The NPS is also present and always delivers a fitting message for this occasion.

(Top Right) At the end of the program, I had the honor of sounding Tattoo and Taps for those fallen on both sides. Near where I'm standing there are believed to be several hundred unknown Confederates. Just a few feet in front of me on Feb. 14th, 1862, Buckner's Kentuckians would be freezing nearly to death for two days.

Shiloh Relic's Coin and Relic Hunt

Both Nikki and I were able to hunt and had a great time. Riley's Hunts were always fun and marked the beginning of Summer! Here was the haul both Nikki and I got.
After the hunt, its always fun to head down to the Catfish house and enjoy the food and the beautiful view overlooking the river.
