Gordonsville September 3, 1863 Dear sister I seat myself this morning to inform you that I am as well as common hoping these few lines may find you well. I am in the Hospital at Gordonsville, Va. I have been here too das an I stade at hanover Junction too das the brigade left Fredericksburg an the doctor sent all that wont able to martch to the hospital at the junction an then we were transferred here an have bin expecting to go to Linchburg, Va evry day but haven’t got off yet if I can get to Linchburg I will try to get to Danville an then I will try to get home I hope we can get off tomorrow this is the first time I ever was at hospital and for a ?? better then
