M1851 Hartford Colt Navy - 1859 Production
Item #: FDR21-254
Here is a really nice M1851 Colt Navy in solid condition with all matching serial numbers, which indicate that this gun was manufactured in 1859. The grips are in remarkable condition with no repairs or damage noted. The brass has a nice mellow patina throughout.
The iron has a nice aged patina with no pitting noted. The naval scene on the cylinder can be easily seen as can the Colt Hartford address on the top of the barrel. The action is tight and all of the nipples are present and original. The only apology for this gun is that one of the trigger guard screws is missing. Other than that, this is a fine example of this iconic civil war weapon, which is early enough to be the centerpiece in your Yankee or Confederate display.
