M1827 Non-regulation infantry officer's sword in untouched condition. This sword came out of south central Tennessee this past spring. The ray grip is still in good condition and does show wear, but remains tight and intact. The guard and scabbard are washed and is a little higher grade than commonly seen. The basket has the eagle over US which is my opinion is one of the most beautiful baskets scene on a sword. The blade has some surface pitting and modeling noted, but through it you can see the etching and 'US' on one side with the Eagle over arms on the opposite. There is a slight memory of the maker on the ricasso.

The scabbard is in good condition with the mounts and rings present. As you can see the drag is pitted.
