Here is beautiful example of a M1855 Rifleman's Belt Rig, issued with the M1841 Mississippi Rifle. The leather is in remarkable condition with some crazing noted on the inside of the belt. The stitching throughout the piece remains intact and does not show threatening signs of weakening anytime soon. The brass on this unique four piece buckle have a nice aged patina. The frog for the saber bayonet remains intact and the stitching that holds it to the belt is remarkable. The frog retains the bucks and strap which affixes to the bayonet scabbard. There are no markings on the belt.

I have a picture of a soldier wearing this belt rig, but is not included.
