Dug Cook & Brother Lock Plate

Here is a rarity, a dug lock plate from a Cook & Brother rifle. It was recovered near Corinth, MS and is in overall good condition for an excavated piece. What I think is cool is that the hammer is in the cocked position. The iron is in very stable condition and appears that it has been cleaned but not coated. It retains the hammer, hammer screw, and a few pieces of the components. Thought the stamped name in front of the hammer is obliterated with the pitting, the symbolic First National Flag is easily seen behind the hammer. There are few dug collections out there with a nice Cook & Brother piece.
