Austrian M1842 Musket

A M1842 .70caliber musket with Leman Conversion. The metal has very light pitting noted throughout, though as can be seen in the pics, is significant at the breech, lock plate, and hammer. It retains all the major hardware including the bayonet locking lug, front and rear sling ring, the ramrod is a replacement and is bent on the end.

The stock is a dark beechwood and has no real damage to note. There is a circular floral design on the butt stock, opposite of the cheek rest. The action works well and the bore could use a cleaning. I have no doubt, due to the lack in specific nomenclature on these imported weapons, that these saw action at Fort Donelson.
