A M1860 Emerson & Silver cavalry saber dated 1864. The blade is in overall good condition with minimal to no pitting noted. The edge does have some flea bites down towards the lower half of the blade which has a dark tone throughout. On the ricasso is marked 'US / JM / 1864' and on the opposite is 'Emerson / & / Silver / Trenton / NJ'. The stampings are visible, the maker's stamp is slightly worn, but legible. The brass guard is in good condition with a dark attic one throughout.

The leather is 95% present and the wire wrap is tight and complete. The pommel cap show now evidence of tampering. It comes with an original scabbard that is correct for this model. It is missing the throat, but retains the hangers and loops. As you can see it has a dark tone throughout with minimal pitting noted. It is slightly warped so when you advance the sword there is some resistance there, but it does fit.
