Civil War Era Bugle
Item #: FDR15-109

Here is a nice brass bugle from the Civil War era. It is light weight just as you would expect weighing only 16.7 ounces with the red bugle cord on. It measures just under 17 inches tall with the mouthpiece in place, 14 inches from the bell to the end of the receiver. There are no markings present and I have not removed the cord that's in place.

The bell measures 5 inches across and you can clearly see the zipper seam goes all the way from the bottom of the bell well inside the horn and is at the 4 o'clock position when you hold the horn towards you. I believe the crook to the original to the horn which changes the key to Bb. This is a nice horn overall and it does play. Cool piece.
