M1840 Artillery sword in over all good condition. The blade shows very little to no pitting with some flea bites noted along the edge. The ricasso shows the memory of an Ames stamp with just a 'U' and part of the date showing. The blade appears to have been cleaned at some point but is slowly starting to turn. The brass guard has just a tad of a wiggle but nothing major. There is a rack number of 26 stamped the leather grip and wire wrap are all original.

The scabbard appears to have been cleaned as well at some point. It shows no damage and the mount and rings are present, as is the throat. There are no marking present.
