Nice looking M1860 Ames Naval Cutlass dated with a nice early 1861. The blade is toned down with no real pitting noted and is mostly smooth to the touch. There are some flea bites noted along the edge of the blade. It has a nice Ames scroll stamped and on the opposite side of the ricasso is the 1861. The brass guard has a nice mellow antique tone throughout and is stamped with most likely a rack number on the inner guard. The grip is better than most in that it still retains the majority of the leather wrap, the wire is gone as is most found.
