A nice looking .58cal Rifle-Musket, Trenton contract by J.T. Hodge and A.M. Burton from the Trenton Locomotive and Machine Co., Trenton N.J. The metal is smooth throughout with moderate pitting noted on the lockplate. You can still make out the 'Eagle Motif' as well as the '1864' and the 'U.S. / Trenton' mark. The butt plate is also moderately pitted on the tang, but you can still make out the 'US' and a number '87' below the tang screw. The breech of the barrel is marked 'NJ' with '1864' on the tang.

The stock shows the normal wear and dings with no breaks or repairs that I can note. It has the correct type ramrod. All barrel bands are original, the rear site is present, as are both sling swivels. The hammer spring is tight and pulls to half and full cock. Nice gun overall.
