Nice looking example of the 3-inch Hotchkiss shell. As you can see it has been cleaned and coated. The iron is slick and the only real blemish worth mentioning is on one side of the base cup (seen in the images) where there is some ground action noted. Otherwise the lead sabot band shows no signs of the shell even being fired. The fuse is missing and probably would have taken the percussion fuse. You could probably tap a fuse in, but the threads of the shell would need a little cleaning - however, she is pretty just the way she sits.
