Imported M1850 Field Officers Sword with metal scabbard. The sword itself is in fair condition with a nice pleasing patina throughout. The blade has some surface pitting and only has the faint memory of the etching and there are no other markings. The brass guard is loose and the grip has remnants of the shark skin wrap with all of the loose wire present. The metal scabbard is in good condition with only one small dent noted above the drag. The brass mounts are tight and present along with the hanger rings. On the mounts you can see the small stars. The brass drag is missing the screw, but remains tightly secured on the scabbard. The sword fits very nicely into the scabbard and has that war torn look. Don't let the description get you down, its 150 years old and has a lot of life left and is priced half what a mint condition sword would cost.
